Chinese New Year.
Room 4 celebrated Chinese New Year by making drums. First, we learned about the legend of the monster Nian who came out to terrorise villages at New Year. The people of China learned how to scare the monster away with loud noises and the colour red, like our noisy red drums!

Thank you for showing Sonja, daddy &me how the Chinese drum works. You were very patient in giving us the instructions. I know you are not always keen to paint because it can get messy, and that is ok too. We can use colour pens to make it red.
